1. Our mission and Website
Operation Santa’s Sleigh is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing compassionate support, comfort and hope, preserving human dignity, and improving public understanding of homelessness.
The Website provides information about our activities, volunteer opportunities, community events, fundraising efforts, and the stories, artwork, poetry, photographs, and videos of participants and community members.
Information on the Website is provided for general informational and educational purposes. Nothing on the Website constitutes legal, medical, financial, social-service, housing, or other professional advice.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Website only in compliance with applicable law.
If you are under 13, you may not submit personal information through the Website without the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. Persons under 18 should obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before donating, volunteering, submitting content, or participating in activities arranged through the Website.
3. Acceptable use

4. Respect for story participants
Some Website content concerns people who are currently or formerly unhoused or otherwise experiencing vulnerable circumstances. Publication of a story does not authorize visitors to investigate, contact, locate, identify, diagnose, criticize, exploit, or make assumptions about the participant.
You may share a link to a publicly available story for personal, noncommercial purposes, provided you do not alter the story, remove context, misrepresent the participant, or imply the participant’s or Operation Santa’s Sleigh’s endorsement.
A participant’s decision to tell a story is voluntary. Assistance, donations, services, or participation in our programs are not conditioned upon agreeing to be photographed, recorded, interviewed, or publicly identified.
5. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise indicated, the Website’s design, text, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, audio, downloadable materials, and other original content belong to Operation Santa’s Sleigh or are used with permission.
You may view and print reasonable portions of the Website for personal, informational, and noncommercial use. No other license is granted.
You may not reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, display, sell, license, create derivative works from, or commercially exploit Website content without prior written permission from the applicable rights holder.
Third-party names, trademarks, photographs, artwork, music, and other materials remain the property of their respective owners.
6. Content submitted to us
You retain ownership of original content you submit, such as written stories, photographs, artwork, poetry, comments, or videos.
Submitting content through a form, email, or other communication does not, by itself, give us permission to publish a person’s name, likeness, voice, story, sensitive information, or creative work. Publication and promotional use may require a separate written consent or media-release agreement describing the authorized content, platforms, purposes, identity choices, and duration of use.
When you submit content, you represent that:
- The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You own the content or have permission to provide it.
- The content does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright, publicity, or other rights.
- You have not included another person’s sensitive information without authorization.
We may decline, edit, postpone, or remove submitted content. Material editing of a participant’s personal story will be handled according to the applicable consent and review arrangements.
Requests to correct, restrict, or remove a personal story or image will be considered in light of the participant’s consent agreement, applicable law, copies already distributed by third parties, and our legitimate record keeping obligations. We cannot guarantee removal of copies made or redistributed by others.
7. Donations
Donations support the mission and programs of Operation Santa’s Sleigh. Unless a particular campaign expressly provides otherwise, donations may be applied where the organization determines they are most needed.
Descriptions of what particular donation amounts may provide are illustrations based on anticipated costs. Actual prices, needs, quantities, and program allocations may vary.
Donations are generally final and nonrefundable. If a donation was made by mistake, was duplicated, or involved unauthorized use of a payment method, contact us promptly at admin@operationsantassleigh.org. Refund requests will be reviewed individually and remain subject to payment-processor rules and applicable law.
A contribution is tax-deductible only to the extent allowed by law. Donors should retain their receipt and consult a qualified tax professional regarding their circumstances. No goods or services are provided in exchange for a donation unless expressly stated.
Payment transactions may be processed by an independent payment provider. Its terms and privacy practices apply to information submitted directly through its service.
8. Volunteers and events
Information submitted through the Website does not guarantee acceptance as a volunteer, participation in an event, receipt of assistance, or availability of a particular program.
Volunteer work and event participation may be subject to additional requirements, including orientation, safety rules, conduct standards, consent forms, background screening, age restrictions, or separate waivers.
Dates, locations, activities, and availability may change because of weather, safety conditions, staffing, funding, participant needs, or circumstances beyond our control.
9. No guarantee of assistance
Contacting Operation Santa’s Sleigh does not create a professional, fiduciary, case-management, healthcare-provider, attorney-client, or agency relationship.
We cannot guarantee food, shelter, housing, healthcare, transportation, financial assistance, emergency intervention, or other services. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or contact the appropriate emergency or crisis service.
10. Privacy and third-party services
Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. Our use of cookies, analytics, embedded media, and comparable technologies is described in our Privacy Policy and consent controls.
These Terms do not constitute consent to nonessential tracking. Where consent is required, we will request it separately through the appropriate Website mechanism.
